NITICCA Announces Dates for NICATISA 2026; Moves to Scale Nigeria-Canada Bilateral Trade Conversations
Following the landmark success of the inaugural summit in Toronto, the Nigeria Trade and Investment Centre, Canada (NITICCA) has officially announced the dates for the 2026 edition of the Nigeria-Canada Trade and Investment Summit & Awards (NICATISA).
The high-level bilateral event is scheduled to take place from August 11th to 13th, 2026, in Canada.

Building on the foundations laid in 2025—which saw critical advancements in forging regulatory synergy between NAFDAC/SON and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), and the Nigeria Customs Service/ Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) —the 2026 summit is themed around “Implementation and Scale.” The objective is to move beyond diplomatic dialogue into the execution of multi-sectoral trade deals and inter-agency collaboration between the two countries.
“2025 was about building the bridge; 2026 is about crossing it,” said a spokesperson for the NITICA Board. “Nigeria remains Canada’s second-largest trading partner in Africa, with bilateral trade exceeding $2.2 billion. Our focus for 2026 is to provide a structured pathway for Nigerian MSMEs and conglomerates to penetrate the North American market while facilitating Canadian FDI into Nigeria’s burgeoning Tech, Agri-business, and Creative sectors.”
Key Focus Areas for NICATISA 2026 include:
- Agriculture and Agric Business
- Real Estate
- Financial Services
- Entertainment and Leisure
- Institutional Collaboration
The summit will feature exclusive Government-to-Government (G2G) roundtables and curated Business-to-Business (B2B) matchmaking sessions designed to foster direct investment.
While the specific host city for 2026 remains under wraps for a “Grand Reveal” scheduled for March, NITICCA has confirmed that registration for the “Vanguard” Waitlist is now open to high-net-worth investors, policymakers, and industry leaders.
